Disputes in Paybrok
Public rules for Protected payments, purchases, services and P2P operations.
What happens after a dispute is opened
- One party opens the dispute before releasing the contested funds.
- The agreement enters dispute status and funds remain locked.
- The parties attach relevant explanations, messages and documents.
- Support compares the written agreement, Stellar state and available evidence.
- If the parties agree, the authorized release or refund is executed.
- If they do not agree, Paybrok may decide and the administrator wallet executes that decision on-chain.
Useful evidence
- Screenshots and relevant messages.
- Payment receipts and local references.
- Stellar transaction proofs.
- Invoices, contracts, bills of lading, tracking, photos and delivery evidence.
Stellar states, amounts, addresses and transactions can be checked on-chain. Files, messages and explanations are stored in Paybrok systems and are not automatically published to the blockchain.
Review criteria
- The accepted agreement and milestone text.
- Verifiable Stellar actions and receipts.
- The connection between evidence and the contested deliverable.
- Dates, review window, communications and each party's conduct.
- Any written and accepted penalty; it is not applied unilaterally.
If one party does not respond
Paybrok reviews the agreement and available evidence even when one party does not respond. Funds remain protected until resolution.
Resolution time
Resolution time depends on case complexity, party responses and the evidence submitted. Funds remain protected during review.
Fees
- Open a dispute: 0%.
- Agreement between the parties without Paybrok arbitration: 0% arbitration fee.
- Paybrok arbitration: progressive 2%, 1.5% and 1% tiers on the disputed amount, with a 5 USDC minimum and 250 USDC maximum.
- The arbitration fee is deducted from whoever receives funds. A release to the provider also carries the normal release fee; a refund to the payer does not.
Evidence retention
Paybrok retains case records according to operational needs, legal obligations and its Privacy Policy. Each party also keeps its original documents.
Service scope
Paybrok protects funds and applies the agreement rules. Parties define verifiable terms and may add reports from their brokers, inspectors or advisors as evidence.
